Hot-fill evaluation should establish how the selected deodorant stick package behaves during filling and after cooling with the intended formula. An empty container that operates smoothly has not yet demonstrated the behavior of the filled assembly.
Begin with a package confirmed for the proposed process. The formula's workable filling conditions and the package's permitted exposure must overlap. A resin name or an example from another stick design cannot establish a suitable temperature for the selected assembly.
Record the process before judging its result
Identify fill temperature, amount, orientation, component assembly sequence and cooling conditions. Note when the cap or any process closure is fitted. Top-fill and bottom-fill designs can require different sequences; use the confirmed construction rather than a universal procedure.
Keep reference parts and measurements from before filling. Make final dimensional comparisons after an agreed conditioning interval, while observing the filling and cooling stages as well. Warm measurements can reveal temporary deformation and should not be dismissed simply because final inspection occurs later.

Check geometry and closure separately
Inspect the barrel, opening, base and cap fit for changes relevant to function. Look for rocking, bowing, gaps or visible distortion, then compare the drawing's critical dimensions. A visual impression alone does not establish dimensional conformity.
Distinguish a change in the container from shrinkage, cracking or separation of the formula. Both may affect the finished product, but they need different investigations. Keep the process history with the affected samples.
Operate the actual mechanism
For a twist-up design, check advance, return if provided, and retention through its intended travel. For a push-up design, evaluate its specified movement instead. Record sticking, tilting, unexpected movement or product passing below the platform without assuming every stick has a ratchet or threaded spindle.
Compare filled samples using agreed force or torque measurements where useful. The formula can resist movement, so a change in operating effort does not by itself prove that the plastic mechanism has warped. Examine the parts and repeat relevant comparisons to locate the cause.
Approve a defined process window
Accept the configuration against agreed dimensional, appearance and operating criteria. Later changes to the formula, material grade, fill conditions or cooling arrangement may require revalidation. No single temperature or cycle count applies to every deodorant package.
